News Flash - High Fructose Corn Syrup is high in fructose

(Or how to blow out your liver without any alcohol)

(Or don't be brainwashed by people that don't care about your health)

The simple fact is that regular table sugar is composed equally of fructose and glucose while HFCS is reported to be slightly weighted on the fructose side clocking in at 55% fructose.

There are two major concerns that immediately present themselves: fructose is a serious health concern and the percentage of fructose reported is only a conservative estimation. In a recent study it’s been found that soda contains as much as 65% fructose.
Extra fructose is a real problem because the substance is processed differently by the body than its cousin glucose.
Glucose is ingested and then harmlessly passes through our intestinal tract and is then excreted as waste. Therefore the extra caloric intake in not absorbed by the body and does not get metabolized as fat.

In sharp contrast, 100% of fructose ingested is directly absorbed by the liver, processed into fat and deposited in the abdominal cavity.  In addition, triglycerides levels in the blood sharply spike. Both factors are the leading contributors of the two most dangerous health problems: heart disease and diabetes.

Fructose which is officially a hepatotoxin and can severely overload your liver which and leads to the creation of many waste products including uric acid.
It is also believed to be the leading cause of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease which can lead to liver failure.

Pure and simple: the fructose you ingest is changed to fat and stored by your body.

In addition, while glucose suppresses the hunger hormone ghrelin and stimulates leptin (an appetite suppressant) fructose has no effect on ghrelin and interferes with the brain’s communication with leptin. This results in a never ending cycle of ingesting fructose without the satisfaction of feeling full and leads to a never ending cycle of overeating.

YDG - Very good! Way to stay away from HFCS.
I was drinking those NOS Energy Drinks like crazy when I got diabetes. If only I could go back in time and take my own advise.
