Urban Homested

Just because I haven't hopped on the global warming (now called climate change) bandwagon doesn't mean I'm against green. I would love to be completely off of the grid and independent.

That would be great, even if they just went a bit green.

Instead of the gov wanting to inspect your house, fine you, declaring that it's uninhabitable and having green police, they should give solar panels to people, encourage them to go green through tax incentives, positive things like that.

You know, a power company could make a deal with it's customers. The power company puts in solar panels for the customer and keeps track of the power that it generates, as soon as it or they pay for themselves, the power company starts buying back any extra electricity that is produced.

I guess the next question is how long would a solar panel take to pay for itself. Too long?

It's been well-known and documented since the early 1980s you can run your home entirely off a windmill and a bank of solar panels, to say nothing of geothermal generating similar to a "heat pump" furnace. Since this country refuses to join the 20th century and run on nuclear like most of Europe, it seems the only clear choice.
Green technology is expensive initially, but the maintenance is low and the savings are enormous if you have your own place.

"Global warming" proves a group of intellectually dishonest people can turn anything into a major crisis, even evolution...What a fkn scam!
