According to AccuWeather.com facebook astronomy expert Daniel Vogler, "M3 solar flare just released! No sign of a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) yet, but with a flare of that size, its possible. Keep it here for more updates!"
According to solarham.com, "A moderate solar flare reaching M3.3 took place at 17:46 UTC (12:46 PM EST) Friday afternoon around a new sunspot rotating into view on the northeast limb."
