The Devil

This is my favorite Tarot card, not because I'm into the devil or anything, but for the truth it tells.

Notice that the chains are loose enough to take off?

This card usually reminds me of unhealthy addictions, but with all the election year mayhem going on it reminds me of the American people.

Just like the people on the card, we have a choice.

We can leave things they we they are (chained up, very little freedom) or we can take the chains off.

We can stop putting each other in prison for victimless actions, we can restore our rights under the constitution and we can end all the wars.

The devil knows he can't tighten the chains, but he also knows that he can try to talk the people out of removing the chains themselves. All the voices that you hear saying that we must continue wars and that we must continue to give up our freedoms are not on the side of the people, they are on the other side.

So, if you will, the next time you hear someone singing the praises of war and giving up our rights, think of the DEVIL card.
