France says "NO!" to Carbon Tax

The government of France decided against a carbon tax this week.
Why?
The people were smart enough to be against it, very against it.
How did they show their opposition?
Through strikes.
Metro services, schools, railroads and even courts were shut down.
Trade unions planned 180 strikes across the country.
One other reason for scrapping the tax, a crushing electoral defeat over the weekend for President Nicolas Sarkozy's Gaulliste UMP party.
The party lost every region except for Alsace and the Indian Ocean island of Reunion.
Citizens of the U.S. could learn a thing or two from the people of France.

  4. Billy - That was already your position... you'd make a great politician.

Ted - Good for you to admit they got this one right, I know you're not crazy about the French.

YDG - I remember that, I thought they should call french fries "Wise Fries" instead of patriot fries.
