Add on to moms house or let her move in?

I've got to decide if I should ask my mother to move in with us. She is 78, winter is coming on, she lives alone, her cardboard box leaks. Maybe I'll just buy a new refrigerator, she can have the box, it'll be like getting whole new wing "The Kenmore Wing".
