Are We There Yet? US military deaths in Afghanistan hit 2,000 after 11 years of war

 


KABUL - U.S. military deaths in the Afghan war have reached 2,000, a cold reminder of the human cost of an 11-year-old conflict that now garners little public interest at home as the United States prepares to withdraw most of its combat forces by the end of 2014.

Notice the year 2014? Far enough in the future to change plans if re-elected and far enough in the future that if not re-elected he doesn't have to deal with it, not that it's a new dirty trick, we've all seen it before.
