The holy book of the Muslim religion was offered as a centennial gift by the Governor's Ethnic American Advisory Council, made up of American Muslims from Middle East countries.

"We do not condone suicide bombers any more than the Christians," she said.

  2. Unfortunately for me, the guy from Midwest City is my rep. This isn't the first stupid thing he's done. Oklahoma continues to earn its reputation as a backward state. Spread the word that we're not all stupid.

  3. I wouldn't have the heart to refuse any book or item that someone offered me in good faith, even more so if they felt that it was sacred.

I bet if they offered a bible to a Muslim and they refused it, there would be a different spin on it.

  4. I've lived in several Muslim countries. They consider the Bible a sacred book. In the homes that I was in, sacred books were in a special place in the living room. There were lots of Bibles displayed alongside Korans and books from other religions.
